Photographer Matt Colagiuri was born in Montclair, NJ, in the shadow of New York City. After graduating from Yale University with a degree in Physical Anthropology, he moved into Manhattan to pursue his first love: Theatre. He completed his acting training in NYC and worked in “the biz” for almost a decade before giving up the gypsy lifestyle and moving to Atlanta, GA.
Matt worked briefly in so-called desk jobs before deciding to return to school at the Art Institute of Atlanta. Graduating at the top of his class with a degree in Media Arts and Animation, he went on to enjoy a moderately successful career as a freelance animator. His client list included the Atlanta Braves and Coca-Cola, among others. It was during this time that he discovered and began exploring his second love: Photography.
Matt no longer animates and dedicates himself full-time to his Sculptural Photography. He credits the evolution of his unique style to his dual background as both an actor and an animator. In Atlanta, Mr. Colagiuri is represented by Krause Gallery In Paris , Germany and UK he is represented by Galerie Roy Sfeir and Galerie Samagra, Claudia Sfeir.
